Barack Obama Hillary ClintonFormer US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will step back from her recent criticism of her former boss US President Barack Obama regarding his actions in Syria and Iraq. Apparently Clinton will “hug it off”, as per press secretary statement, with Obama when they meet at the fundraiser later this week. Clinton who is seen as one of the most prominent potential candidates for Obama’s successor in 2016 once again shows that she can not stand behind her own words.

Last week Hillary Clinton came out in a very critical way to address government foreign affairs policies when it comes to Syria and Iraq in light of recent surge of ISIS. Almost similar views came at the same time from one of the US foreign affairs mavericks Sen. John McCain who also pointed out that Obama’s administration made significant errors in dealing with Syria and Iraq. Both, Clinton and McCain, accused Obama for inaction, lack of support to Syria rebels, avoiding to supply them and Iraqi Kurds with enough weapons to fight ISIS and Assad regime.

Back then in an interview with The Atlantic Clinton said:

“The failure to help build up a credible fighting force of the people who were the originators of the protests against Assad—there were Islamists, there were secularists, there was everything in the middle—the failure to do that left a big vacuum, which the jihadists have now filled.”

In the statement released by her press secretary Clinton repeated that President Obama and herself had different views regarding foreign policy and how to approach world problems, but repeatedly said that she supports all actions taken by the President and his team. Clinton who was great knowledge on foreign politics, as former First Lady/Senator/Secretary of State, should stand behind her words and keep her ground beside a need to keep it on good terms with Obama if she wants to portray herself as someone who can fix all present problems created by Obama’s administration.
